They were also handing bags of groceries. There was a long line for that. Also there was music, puppet shows, games, a prayer booth and other stuff.

Today our church was involved in a city-wide church outreach in Lebanon. Our part was to give out the hotdogs. We started at 1:00 and by 2:30 we had given out over 1300 dogs.

Do It Anyway

A friend of mind has a saying: "No good deed goes unpunished." Often there seems to be a lot of truth in this statement. When you try to help someone it often ends in some kind of misunderstanding or calamity. I was just reminded of this little poem in Wayne Jaconsen's blog.

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.

People need help but may attack you if you try to help them.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
